Lil Wayne Talks Pulling Nicki Minaj From ‘Summer Jam’ Concert

It still seems to be a bit confusing to people as to why Lil Wayne might’ve pulled Nicki Minaj from her Hot97 Summer Jam concert, but to others it’s just common knowledge. But of course, MTV had to get the scoop from Mr. Young Money himself.

You’d think by the lyrics in his music that Weezy has in his songs that he wouldn’t care what Peter Rosenberg or any other critic had to say about his femme fatale artist. But if you think that Wayne is just a he man woman hater, think again.

Weezy shared with MTV that there was no question once he caught wind of the disrespect but to pull her from the show. “I approached the situation like this: that’s a female. First and foremost Nicki Minaj is a female. I don’t know what anyone else believes but I believe females deserve the ultimate respect at all times. No matter what, when, where or how. So, as soon as she called me and said that she felt disrespected, I just declined everything.”

He topped off his statements with a little bit of reiteration for those whose heads might be a little foggy. “No bad feelings, no hard feelings, like I said in my opinion she said she was disrespected [and] that’s a woman. I feel like a woman should be respected at all times. Therefore I believe that I made the right decision.”

Did Wayne make the right call?
